Hello friends,
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I want to extend heartfelt wishes to all the moms out there. Whether you’ve brought life into the world or are nurturing someone in another way, your love is felt and deeply appreciated. It’s in our nature as women to nurture others, and for that, I wish you all a joyful and peaceful Mother’s Day.
Even on this special day, I want you to remember something incredibly important: You are more than any title.
You are you. You are enough.
You are an individual.
You are unique.
You are wonderful.
You are loved.
You don’t need a title to be special, honored, or loved.
Let me open up to you for a moment. For years, everything I did was focused on my family. I took pride in the roles of mom, wife, and friend, but over time, I lost sight of who I was. My identity and worth were completely tied to my roles and how others viewed me. I did not know who I was beyond my responsibilities(the to-do list).
Then, I began to heal and work on myself. In that process, I rediscovered myself. I found the joy that I needed to feel whole again. I found my voice.
Back then, I thought I loved my family deeply, but now I love them even more because I see them through a different lens. I’m no longer constantly drained and exhausted. My love comes from a place of abundance because I also care for myself.
You’ve probably heard me say that you can’t pour from an empty cup. You cannot give what you do not have. You can’t burn the candle from both ends, or it will be depleted twice as fast, and you’ll soon find that there is nothing left to give. You must, MUST, feed your soul first so you can share that love with those around you.
If I can offer you one piece of advice today, please create boundaries for yourself. Use your voice to say yes and no. Your yeses will mean nothing if you don’t know how to say no.
This Mother’s Day, give yourself the gift of listening to your heart. Even if life is busy, take a few moments just for yourself. Breathe, sit still, and connect with your soul, even for a few minutes. You owe this to yourself. You are worthy of this time and space.
I wish each of you abundant love and joy this Mother’s Day and always.
With warmest wishes,
Isabel
